AI
In imaging, AI assists detection and prioritisation. It does not replace judgement.
What it does today
Nodule detection, fracture prompts, triage ordering and structured reporting. The common thread is surfacing the obvious earlier to reduce misses.
- Treat it as a second pair of eyes, not a verdict
- Ask about recall and false positives, not headline accuracy
- Verify every prompt against the original images
Where the limits are
Performance drops when training data differ from local scanners and populations. Responsibility stays with the clinician and technologist.
Technical background only; not medical advice.
