Schools

Choose the research direction first, the supervisor second, the exam subjects last.

Three dimensions

Direction decides what you do for three years; the supervisor decides whether you finish; subjects decide whether you get in. Reversed order leads to offers you cannot complete.

  • List three directions, then find who works on them
  • Read the supervisor's last three years of papers, not the title
  • Verify subjects and reading lists against this year's notice
